Gletscherparthia translates as Parthia Glacier suggesting the photograph was taken in Iran. The Swiss publishers, Edit Photoglob, are also noted on the photo. It seems their main business was the production of a large range of postcards from a wide variety of countries. This dramatic photograph of 7 climbers shows that they extended their business to large photographs as well as postcards. Circa 1900.
