This teak campaign table breaks down into three pieces with the top, stem and base unscrewing. The turned stem is fitted with a brass collar at either end to strengthen it and the use of teak meant that the table would be less affected through climate change. Although relatively simple in construction, the maker paid attention to the fashionable design of the day. The table has a reeded edge to the top, a well turned column and stands elegantly on four legs. Circa 1820.
