An unusual pair of yew wood or possibly cedar, treen Brighton Bun travelling candlesticks.

These candlesticks stand out for two reasons. Firstly the use of yew is uncommon and secondly in that one half makes a watch stand. So instead of making two candlesticks, like most Brighton Bun or Military Candlesticks do, this set also has an additional use.

One dish have has a screw in column with a small brass hook to the top to take a fob watch and turned shoulders to the sides for the watch's chain to hang. They would have been quite practical and although we have had a set where one half was an inkwell, this is the only set we have seen with a watch stand.

An interesting variant. Late 19th century.

The size of the watch stand Bun is given.

The compass is shown for demonstration and does not come with the set.
