A leather cased pack of Domino Playing Cards.
The 28 cards have a gilt border and edge with a decorative burgundy and gilt patterned back. Each card is identified by both the traditional method of dots and the numbers to two corners.
The red leather on card case is stamped Dominoes in a gilt script and has the registration number 38519 for 1885. For the traveller, this set takes up a fraction of the space of a normal set of Domino tiles and could easily be packed away.
There is no maker's name to the pack but is the type of item that a company like De La Rue would manufacture. Late 19th Century.
