A hand painted ceramic Chamber Pot with Soap Dish.
The scenes to these two toiletry ceramics show a reversal of fortune with a tiger in a landscape that extends around the bowl. The soap dish shows a mounted hunter shooting at the tiger, while the po shows a hunter being attacked by a tiger whilst two other men watch from the far riverbank. The rims of the bowls have a gilt edge with further gilt decoration to the handle of the po. There are no maker's marks. Circa 1840.
