A round, mahogany Occasional Table that dismantles.

The top is made of a single piece of mahogany cut with a moulded edge and a bracing bar to the underside. The column and base look like they may be walnut and the quality of the wood is not as good as the top, which would be seen the most. The table is made up of four parts with both ends of the column fitted with a thread to screw into the top and the bottom. The fourth part is a collar that sits between the column and the base to give a stepped, more natural finish. The base has three shaped feet that are fixed on with screws.

The lack of glue and wear suggests that this table was made to be dismantled rather than the wooden threads being constructional. It's a useful size as a lamp or occasional table. Circa 1840.
