At Ease Gentlemen was our first catalogue of 18th, 19th & early 20th century Campaign Furniture and Travel equipment. It was printed as an edition of 750 which have sold out, although a few copies may be obtainable from the book dealers listed below.

The catalogue has a foreward by Nicholas Brawer, the author of British Campaign Furniture and a good mix of furniture and smaller personal items. It has 89 illustrated items over 36 pages and information on 3 campaign furniture makers to the back. These are Samuel Pratt & Son, John Pound and the Cabin, Camp & Barrack Furniture Manufacturer John Shepherd. Also featured within the catalogue are 5 items by Ross & Co. of Dublin, a Writing Box and Razor Boxed Set by Thomas Lund, a small Box by Thos. Christy, furniture by The Army & Navy C.S.L, MacDonald Patent Boot Racks by Platt and a Bett’s Patent Portable Globe.

This catalogue accompanied the exhibition of the same name which won the British

Antiques and Collectables Award for Best In-House Exhibition 2003.

Our catalogues are produced in the hope that they will be a valuable reference source to the collector for many years to come. To this end they are all fully illustrated in colour and a number of the pieces have more than one photograph, where it is important to show it dismantled for travel or a maker’s label.
