A walnut Tripod Occasional Table with removable legs. The splayed legs have graduated, turned bobbin decoration and are fitted with wooden threads so the table can be easily dismantled. The design is very simple: a circular top with a moulded edge, 3 interlocking stained oak blocks to the underside, each with a threaded hole to receive a leg. There is some writing to one of the blocks which maybe Walter Wayte but it is difficult to read.
These tables are also known as Gypsy Tables and are very practical, no fuss, portable tables. Late 19th Century.
