A leather single Hat Case marked Harrods Ltd, London S.W.
This case is an unusual size and but for the 2 bars fitted to the front of the interior to hold a hat's rim, you wouldn't know it was for hats. The case is well made with a fishtail handle to the top and 5 domed stud feet to the bottom. The lid's hinge is both stitched and fixed by 4 rivets. The case's interior will take A4 size with room to spare. The case is tooled with the initials W.S. to the front of the handle. Harrods is perhaps the world's most famous department store, known for its luxury goods. It included both Luggage and Barrack Room and Camp Furniture amongst its many departments. Circa 1900.
