A stained alder wood cased set of 4 brown glass Spirit Flasks.
The glass decanter bottles are moulded with a large fielded panel to the front and smaller panel to the sides and back. The silver plated tops are engraved with either G, S, V or W to mark the spirit the bottle holds. The base is moulded with various letters and digits including Regn No 749215 which dates to 1929.
The case for this set is very understated and utilitarian. It has open dovetail joints, simple dividing boards to the interior and 2 swing hooks to the lid with a twist catch which will take a padlock to secure it. The top is cut out to the size of the leather strap handle, so that it can lie flat. It is held by a pair of brass bars that allow the strap to be pulled up to be used as a handle. Its possible that it was made for motoring or some other form of travel. Circa 1930.
Case size is given.
