Early Tent Pole Strap

Category: Other Travel Items

Subcategory: Miscellaneous

An early iron and leather Tent Pole Strap.

The 4 iron hooks look to be blacksmith made and the metal is folded over to the top to form a narrow collar to fit the leather belt strap. When fixed to a tent pole, this strap would provide useful hanging hooks for an officer. An interesting, early version of the Tent Pole Strap. Early to mid 19th Century.
